Beyond education, we focus on self-empowerment initiatives that equip individuals with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in various aspects of life. From vocational training to personal development workshops, we support our community members in becoming self-reliant and resilient.

Chief Timothy Aloba was born in 1880, in Igbara-Oke, Ondo state. His Benin name was Ogiemwanre Ailobafe, meaning the Chief has come. But veryone called him Aloba (Aloba Lehinbioke: We have King behind us like a rock, because most people couldn’t pronounce his Benin name. He was the eldest son of Chief Egharevba, who was sent to Igbara-Oke by Oba Ovoranmwen, as the kingdom’s Ambassador. At that time, Benin kingdom extended to Ilesha.
He had four wives:
Chief Timothy Aloba was a man of the people ad for the people, especially with his family. He taught himself how to read and write in cursive letters. He could read fluently the Holy bible in Yoruba and the newspapers in English. With larger-than-life heart, he was a man of honor, integrity and wisdom. He was a merchant trader and walked for months to Onisha and Lagos. Later in life, he became a cocoa farmer. He was a customary court judge in Igbara-Oke. A devoted Christian, he was one of the elders at St. Paul Anglican Church, Igbara-Oke. He was one of the founding members of Anglican grammar school, Igbara-Oke. He loved his children and grandchildren fairly and equally. He once told his eldest son,
“Don’t mind what people say, go ahead and have as many children as your heart desires, after all, I didn’t have as many children as I wanted“
He single-handedly raised the founder of this foundation, imafidon aloba. He was solely responsible for his education through the secondary school, at Anglican grammar school, Igbara-Oke. imafidon was asked, “Why do you establish this foundation in remembrance of your grandparents.” He answered, “This is what my grandparents would’ve wanted: To give back to the community they were born, lived and loved.” Chief Aloba once said, Although I was from Benin, Igbara-Oke is my home
He was a merchant trader and walked for months from Igbara-Oke to Enugu to Lagos to sell his merchandises; mostly clothes, shoes and accessories. He was a well dresser who usually turned heads with the female gender.
His favorite Bible verse was Psalm 34:8-10.
Everyone remembers him sharing his favorite dinner of pounded yam and egusi with vegetable soup, with his grandchildren and anyone who stopped by his house at dinner time.
Comfort Oni Aloba was born to Madam Eyekekere and Mr. Afe. Her family hailed from Owa and Uteh, Edo state. Mr. Afe’s family migrated from Benin to Ogotun, but lived at Igesa section of Igbara-Oke, throughout his life. Comfort Oni Aloba was a simple, gentle, lowkey, loving mother and grandmother, especially to her Grandchildren
This is what one of her granddaughters, Ms. Kemi Ojo, wrote about her, in part, “…petite but very beautiful, strong, tireless, meticulously neat and well organized… a great disciplinarian, an evangelist, and a business woman. She was the epitome of great wisdom, a problem-free mother-in-law, …her favorite snacks were bowl of boiled or roasted peanuts…and a long stick of sugar cane. She was a traditional cloth weaver, using traditional loom, patiently working on the yarn she spent weeks in order to come up with a beautiful designs she wore personally and for her customers. She never missed the daily early morning church prayers at St Paul Anglican church, Igbara-Oke, Monday through Saturday …and got ready on Sunday for the Sunday morning service by 9am. She was later honored to become Akapo of the church – Iya treasurer.
Imafidon Aloba has a master’s degree in business administration from the college of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia and a bachelor’s degree in accounting degree from Norfolk State University, Norfolk, Virginia. He was a former assistant university professor of accounting, taxation, statistics and business administration. He is in private practice as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), specializing in taxation, small business accounting, payroll, and computer and general management consulting, in Hampton, Virginia.He is the founder of Chief Timothy and Comfort Aloba Foundation (2023) to memorialize his maternal grandparents. His mission is simple: Give back to the community of his grandparents in the areas of health, education and individual empowerment, creating the platform for a better future for all
Serves as Chair of the Board, Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy (VICPP). He is an Assistant Pastor of St. Johns Church of God in Christ in Newport News, Virginia. He is also an Executive Officer of the Church of God in Christ Virginia and 2nd Jurisdiction’s Pastors and Elders Council. He is an experienced Hospital Administrator, a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, Nursing Home Preceptor, and a Nationally Certified Inspector. Dr. Fludd earned a BS in Health/Hospital Administration from Ithaca College and a Masters in Professional Studies in Health Care Administration from Long Island University, a Health Minister Certificate from the Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC and a Doctorate of Ministry from the Graduate Theological Foundation in Indiana. Lastly, Dr. Fludd is the founder of Covenant Care and Ministerial Outreach, Inc. in Williamsburg/Lightfoot Virginia, a Nonprofit Health Ministers community partnership, whose ministerial mission is to promote equity in the communities through ministry, health, and advocacy by providing education through trusted partnerships and collaborations in the community
Ogubuike Emejuru MD, MPH, FAAP is an assistant professor of clinical Paediatrics in the department of paediatrics Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, Virginia. He is a board certified Paediatrician with over 30 years experience and a Fellow American Academy of Paediatrics. He is the founder and CEO Medical Vision for Peace. He is has been involved in several Water, Sanitation and Hygiene projects both locally and Internationally. He believes education is the bedrock for any meaningful development to take place in a society
Arimie Caroline Awonemika has a PhD degree in Reproductive Health Studies from the prestigious Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Nigeria, and holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Sunderland, United Kingdom. She is a Senior researcher with a focus on maternal and child health. She is the founder of “She Thrives” an organization that focuses on reducing the Commodification of babies and promoting Social Justice. Currently, she is involved in various educational projects. Her mission is to change lives through the delivery of tailored interventions that meet the specific needs of individuals.
Kaine Victoria Aloba is a dedicated NGO administrator with over 12 years of experience in marketing and administration. A prestigious Rivers State University graduate with a BSc in Marketing, Kaine Victoria Aloba has honed strategic planning, organizational management, and impactful communication expertise. With a proven track record of driving successful initiatives, Kaine Victoria Aloba is passionate about fostering sustainable growth and her mission is to make a positive difference in communities through innovative strategies and effective program execution.
Olumide Oluokun is an experienced NGO operations manager with a strong background in non-profit management and organizational development. He is committed to building sustainable and community development projects; dedicated to ensuring efficient operations and proud to be people person. He excels in using scarce resources to achieve measurable outcomes in line with NGO-set goals.
